For Business Blogging, Use Pictures That Your Visitors Will Love

The Internet is a visual medium, so it’s no surprise that your blog visitors prefer to see pictures over text. One well-chosen graphic can replace several paragraphs of text when it comes to explaining concepts or showing off your latest product or service. An attractive photo can also encourage people to read the accompanying message. Here are three types of pictures your readers will love.

  • Kids and baby animals. A visitor enjoys pictures of young children and small animals because they’re cute and may recall his or her own little ones. And your business doesn’t have to produce anything for kids or pets either. For example, if you perform digital services, the image can show a kid in front of a computer keyboard. If you manufacture a product, showing a puppy next to what you make will attract views.
  • Relationships. Whether we’re gregarious or loners, our fondest memories and interactions generally involve other people with whom we have relationships. So, it’s no surprise that a picture showing individuals interacting with someone they know is attractive. How about graphic of a couple holding hands looking at one of your products? Or an older dad explaining to his adult daughter how your service can improve her working situation?
  • “Candid” images. Professionally-shot and modeled photos are expected for your main website and business brochures. But spur-of-the-moment images, preferably with people in them, may better for your blog or Facebook pages because they seem more authentic and current. In addition, you can put such images out quickly, as soon as you take them. Don’t be afraid to experiment with such shots using your smart phone to see how your visitors respond.
